Leslie’s style is loose, immediate, and intuitive. She prefers to work from life but will resort to her own photographs as a reference to something she has experienced. Her subject choices range to all topics, be it landscape, still life, figures, plants, or animals, including abstracts.
Her medium of expression is as versatile whether it is drawing, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and painting in acrylic, oil, or both together.
Leslie works on both small and very large formats.
While she is not formally trained, she’s been given tuition in the past by various teachers, the most influential being Jeanette Gilks, and says she is forever learning, despite 35 years of art-making.
