Stefan was born on the 6th of April 1962 in Pretoria. He matriculated at Afrikaans Hoèr Seunskool at Pretoria with a distinction in art. He is the son of the well-known SA artist Andre de Beer where he originally got his passion and love for art. His father was the one who inspired him to start an art career. Stefan has been a full-time artist for 24 years and has never looked back."When you do something you love you will never work a day in your life".He is a great admirer of impressionistic artists and his style can be described as impressionistic, realistic. He specializes in acrylic but works in oils, pastels and pen and ink. His topics vary from people, landscapes, still lifes and animals. He recently started doing bronze sculptures. He has held numerous one-man exhibitions and his works can be found nationwide in galleries.
