A Capetonian by birth, I graduated from the University of Cape Town’s Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art. In early 2008, I moved to the remote Karoo village of Fraserburg in the sparsely populated Northern Cape to pursue a career as a full-time artist.
Using the medium of Oil on canvas I have been primarily focusing on images depicting my immediate Karoo surroundings. My works explore themes of tranquillity and alienation that reflect the isolation of the Karoo and artistic lifestyle, as well as the relationship between elemental/atmospheric conditions and the built and natural environment.
